Talent
Managing bands, DJs and Producers requires a certain skills set which one can only acquire after several years of hands-on music industry experience. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with a plethora of amazing talent over the years, such as Crazy P, Ashley Beedle, Beardyman, DJ Cosmo, George Demure and Spektrum and been proud of the work we have delivered together. I am now currently concentrating on post-punk funk legends Gramme, who have recently signed to Tummy Touch, look out for their brand new EP this September.
GRAMME
Seminal late ’90s post-punk outfit Gramme are back. The four piece have reunited to forge new sounds outlined by Chicago house legends such as Ron Hardy and deliver these unique mutations alive and kicking into the contemporary live arena.
Gramme are Sam Lynham (vocals), Leo Taylor (drums), Luke Hannam (bass), Dave Bateman (guitar/keys)
Gramme spluttered into life in 1996, high on the fumes of 99 Records, ESG, Liquid Liquid, Factory’s ACR, New Order & Daft Punk’s album ‘Homework’. Their ambition was to make raw, accessible and deeply pleasurable party music for those left cold by the tired and uninspiring sounds of big beat.
For those that like lists, there was clearly a nod to Arthur Russell classic ‘Is It All Over My Face’ and ESG’s seminal club classic ‘Moody’ which provided the blueprint for a Gramme’s most noted track ‘Like You’ – which has ended up on a number of curated albums, including Hot Chip’s DJ Kicks for !K7.
Now, in 2011, this joie de vivre has never been more apparent. The music is blazing ahead into a more forward-thinking direction, bringing its players along stronger and bolder than ever before. New releases and performances are coming soon.
