One of the most rewarding areas of my work has been working in education. I have used my wealth of experience and knowledge of the music industry and journalism by teaching at a number of institutions across London. Most recently I have been lecturing at University of Westminster on the BA Commercial Music and the BA Commercial Music Performance, on subjects ranging from marketing and brand development through to DJ culture and business – all explored through a sociological lens. Combining theory and practice is my field of expertise. In addition, I have been writing modules for Pearson, developing a new HND music business course. I’m also a visiting lecturer at University of West London, on their journalism courses.

From 2009-2012 I was Deputy Director of the Popular Music Foundation Degree at BANM (British Academy of New Music) in Bow, London, which was a fantastic experience. I had the honour of working with some extremely talented individuals.

In October 2012 I launched a new eight week music journalism course with the London Journalism Centre, hosted in venues in Dalston and Clerkenwell. The course features practical skills as well as an insight into industry know-how and the chance to pitch to publications for possible commissions. Read more here for details. I have since handed over the reigns to a new delivery team.
